Goal change for 2011... 100 miler!!!!

I've decided to run the Run Woodstock 100 miler this year.  As much as I would love to do the Canadian Death Race, I've got to take my budget into account.  Heading out West will cost me an arm and a leg.  I'd have to fly into Calgary (hang with my sister and acclimate), then fly to Edmonton, rent a car and drive for 5 + hours.... and so on and so forth.....

My condo reno budget has well exceeded it's limit, so the decision was made for me.

Here is the spectacular kitchen sink that I am getting.  The sink alone could pay for my airfare to Calgary and Edmonton.  Gulp!!!!

Here is the race that I will be doing.  Looks like a lot of fun and it shouldn't break the bank!

Registration hasn't opened for the event so I'll have to keep an eye out for that.  The timing works out well as I am behind schedule in terms of athletic conditioning.  This will give me an extra month to get to the stage where I will be able to start training for a 100 miler.
I have to sit down and plot out my training schedule...... Soooooo exciting!!!

What events/ races are you excited about this year?

Gotta run.

It will be easier for me to get there to be part of your entourage rather than Calgary. Let the training begin...

I think you've chosen well. I've heard that the Death Race is likely to be cancelled after its race director left and no replacement has been found. Best of luck training for Woodstock.

100 is nuts! I could never imagine running that far. My knees would explode.

It sounds like it would be a blast if I was able to do it.
