Week 1 of 100 miler training......

I would have to say that last week went very well. I did miss a 4 mile run (no biggie), and weights (pain in right shoulder and rotator cuff... wtf?).

I was on track with consuming 8 glasses of water a day, and my meals were healthy and home made.

I am allowing myself one day a week where I can eat and drink what ever, and how ever much, I want.

On Saturday, I ate McDonald's, had a bag of Lindt chocolate eggs and 3/4 of a medium pizza........... and a nice Cabernet Sauvignon to wash it down.

I am using a great phone app that lets me track everything I eat, drink and exercises that I do, etc.. It really helps keep me honest and aware of what I am shoving into my 'Pie-hole".

This app is called MyNetDiary and I am using the FREE version.

On to week two.......

Gotta run.

Runner's World quote of the day:

At least 99 percent of running is just showing up, getting out there and putting one foot in front of the other.

Alot of people think triathletes are crazy (good crazy), it think ultra runners are the good crazy, in my mind, I can not wrap the concept of a 100 mile foot race, I am going to enjoy learning from your journey.

Thanks for the App recommendation - I've been looking for a good one to track food intake. I am beyond impressed that you are training for a 100 mile race - that is so freakin' cool. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the idea of a 50 miler, I can't even imagine a 100 miler. Happy training!

100 miles will change your life forever. Enjoy the moment and train like no tomorrow. If your not tired at the end of the week, your not training hard enough.

Which race is it?
