Where was I?

...... Oh yes, Day 4 of the Big Bend trip. We drove the 30ish miles to Chisos Basin (area where many trails begin).

The 'Window' is pictured above..... There had been a mountain lion attack, so the Window Trail was temporarily closed to the public.

After a short hike, we made our way to the Lost Mine trailhead (not shown).

Was surprised at how breathtaking the views on this trail were.

Had no idea that we would be climbing to the top of a mountain..... guess I didn't read the description thouroughly.

If you don't already know, I am afraid of heights. My body starts to shake, I have trouble breathing, etc. IF you'd like to read about how I once tried to cure my fear of heights click HERE.

Here I am....... all up high in the sky. Proud as can be.

You can't really tell from the photo, but the mountain dropped off on both sides of this stretch.

This part scared me the most. I had to shield my peripheral vision with both hands and had to keep talking to myself..... "Just go straight", "Focus on the ground", "You can do it", "Just breathe".

The crazy mountain top winds only heighten my fear. All it would take is one big gust.........

Look at the view....... so worth the anxiety attack.

Each of us accomplished something great that day.

Gotta run.

I am so proud of you for not quitting the hike - the views, as you said, were so worth it. Beautiful pictures. I am very jealous.
