Journey to Georgia

The first 5.5 hours brought us to Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia (arrived late and spent the night). Was a place I would definitely go back to and explore.

The next day we drove 4.5 hours.

In the rain.......

..... and fog.

We drove through the mountains. Pretty views huh?

We made it to The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiswassee........... lucked out with this site.

Went for a short run to explore.

Love horses.

The weather is supposed to clear up today and be mostly sunny for the rest of our stay here. Yippee.

Gotta run.

I saw the name Hungry Mother State Park, and I looked it up thinking, "This has to be just some sort of pet name for the park, not the official name." Nope, that's what it's called and I even found why. It looks like a really great place to go (when it's not raining).

Hungry Mother is a great state park. I go there once every summer. Swim, canoe, paddle boat and run. There's a great loop trail to run on around the lake and into the mountains. It is definitely worth a longer visit.

Thanks for the comment JP....... We picked Hungry Mother because it was on the map right about the time we wanted to stop driving for the day. I was really bummed when I saw how beautiful it was and because there was just so much to do. Was a shame we couldn't stay longer.

What was your hurry? Did you have to be someplace else? You are supposed to be wild and free and enjoying your year off.
Great picture BTW I especially liked gthe one showing your trailer with the beautiful leaves and mountains in the background - you should get a copy and put it in your condo to remind you of your adventures.
Miss you guys...
