Country living.

I have seen swans before, but never up close.

They are truly magnificent.

I couldn't believe how big they were.

Their beautiful white feathers looked very soft.

It rained a couple days last week so it raised our water levels up. Now the view is nicer from our deck.

Have you ever heard of pickled garlic scapes?

I didn't even know they existed until this past Monday...... Was served to me in a Caesar.

The twisty, curly, garlic stems (scapes) are edible. You guessed it....... tastes like garlic.

What a fun cocktail garnish!

What sorts of unusual edibles have you had?

Gotta try new things.

Wow, what a view; nust be your new place. Yes the swans are just so beautiful. I could watch them all day as they glide through the water. Looks like such a peacefull place.

It is the new property...... Very peaceful to just sit and listen to the birds, the occasional car, and coyotes in the evening!

p.s. the water and swans were at a restaurant. The lounger photo is the new place...... Not as awesome as the swan lake (lol).

Believe it or not, Flint has little pocket places that have a lot of waterfowl just hanging out. People too often dismiss the city as a total hell-hole, and don't realize how nice some of it can be.

I have a few places I take the dog for walks where we get to look at ducks, swans, geese, herons, and all sorts of things.

The amount of population loss around here almost gives some areas a country feel. This goes especially for the people buying up the last house standing in an area, fixing it up, and buying the land around (knocking down what's left of the other housing). Country living for cheap with city convenience. It's weird.

I love Flint..... I know as soon as I reach Flint that it's going to be smooth sailing on I75 North :)

I've head that they taste like chicken...... It's gotta take a lot of frog legs to fill up on!!!

Gorgeous photos of the swans. We have a lot of black swans in Australia but the white ones look nicer.

I'd love to see a Black Swan...... Same goes for the movie ;)

Lovely pictures of the swans! I'm not sure I've ever seen one that close before.

Swans are beautiful, but also a bit scary I think. I've heard they can break your arm with their wings...

Yikes!!!

I wish I had a camera with me instead of an iPhone...... Could have zoomed in to show the detail!
