The new ipod Shuffle

The new ipod Shuffle was released earlier this week. I was intrigued. I logged onto the www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/ site and watched the video overview.

I am not a big fan of the controller being on the cord of the headphones. There are many choices that require you to hold the button, or hit it once or twice, depending on what you want to do. The new ipod shuffle can tell you what song you're listening to and let you choose play lists. Yes, it actually speaks to you.

Frankly, when I am running, I don't want to be concerned with how many times to hit a button or to fumble to find the controls on a cord that is usually tucked in my shirt or bouncing around with the movement of my stride.

I also noted that there was no mention of a "back" button. I like to stim on songs... I can play the same song over and over and over and over (you get my drift). When the headphones die you have to replace them with another ipod shuffle pair.... or you will not have any way of controlling the device. I believe that there is a converter piece that you can purchase... but it's pretty sneaky/ ingenious all the same!!!!

So instead of spending $99 USD I am gonna stick with my current ipod shuffle!!! It's small and durable and clips onto my watch. I can see and control my music while checking my time and stats! And when the headphones die or in my case, loose sound in one ear bud, I can use my Sony pair!

That's for sure!

I did have the original shuffle..... remember the one that was long and attached to a white cord? I used to hate how the cord would get all dirty from rubbing against my sweaty skin! Bleh!
