It's funny... the hotel that we are staying at is the same chain that we stayed at in Parry Sound. Amazing how much better a room can be when you pay a little extra.
I happened to look out of the window yesterday and saw hundreds of 'shit hawks' flying around.
birds in the family Laridae. They are most closely related to the terns (family Sternidae) and only distantly related to auks, skimmers, and more distantly to the waders. Until recently[vague], most gulls were placed in the genus Larus, but this arrangement is now known to be polyphyletic, leading to the resurrection of several genera."
(The Curious Birder). She's got some great pics of birds and really knows her stuff.... make sure to check out her blog (she's also a runner!!!!).
This trip to Sudbury it mainly a business trip, but we are going to try to squeeze in a little tour. I'd like to go to the Art and Nickle museums. For those who may not know, Sudbury, Ontario is the home of the Big Nickel. I'll be able to check that large roadside attraction off my list!!!
Canadian nickel, located at the grounds of Dynamic Earth in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, as the world's largest coin. The twelve-sided nickel is located on a small hill overlooking the intersection of Municipal Road 55 and Big Nickel Drive at the westernmost end of the Gatchell neighbourhood.
The Big Nickel celebrated its 45th anniversary on July 22, 2009 with a "birthday party" on the grounds of Dynamic Earth, including a display of coins from Science North's Inco Coin Collection."
Hey there Stacey thanks for the mention, love your gull pics and love the reference to "shit hawks", LOL!!!
Your hotel looks fabulous and the bathroom looks like the type of bathroom I could spend hours in soaking in the tub.
You're welcome... your blog is fun to read!
