Another sports community and Olympic medals

Just Finish: A community dedicated to motivating and encouraging ALL runners, walkers, cyclists and multi-sport athletes through the FINISH! (click on the words just finish to be directed to the site)

I signed up yesterday....  going to check the community out.

I have done 3 runs so far and am trying to do my best to not push too hard, go out too often, and run too far.  Let me tell you.... it's fricken' hard!!!  I erred on the side of caution and decided not to do a run today.

Tomorrow I have my physio appointment.  I will be pleased to tell him about my progression.  I believe that I should achieve my first goal (to be able to run 7 consecutive miles, pain free, by October 3rd).  Not sure if I ever mentioned my physiotherapist's name?  He's Brian Gastaldi.  Terrific physiotherapist and all around nice guy!  He works with many professional and amateur athletes.  He is physiotherapist to the ice skater Scott Moir.  For those who may not know, Scott Moir is a part of the London, Ontario duo who won the gold medal in the Ice Dance competition at the 2010 Winter Olympic games.

Speaking of gold medals..... did I mention that it was the Canadian Mint in Ottawa that was responsible for casting and creating the medals.  I apologize in advance if I'm repeating myself... I'll keep it short.  It was just so awesome to see in person.

Each medal, is actually a puzzle piece.  They all connect to form a mural.  Each medalist received a copy of the mural and the exact location that their medal fits in.  Pretty cool!  If you'd like to learn about how they were made follow this link to the Canadian Mint.  Enjoy!

Gotta run.
